Manage workspace access and limits

Understand Sales Admin access, Role default, Allow, Deny, and plan limits.

Updated September 27, 2026

What does Role default mean?

Role default means use the standard permission for the member’s assigned role. It does not always mean allowed: a Sales Admin can manage campaigns by default, but billing changes are owner-only.

  • Role default: follow the assigned role. If the owner changes that role, this permission follows the new role’s default.

  • Allow: explicitly grant this permission instead of using the role default.

  • Deny: explicitly block this permission, even when the role normally allows it.

Sales Admin: allowed by default

On Scale, a Sales Admin has the following access when each option is set to Role default:

  • View and manage leads and opportunities.

  • View, create, and manage campaigns.

  • Connect and manage their own LinkedIn account.

  • Generate and send outreach using their own LinkedIn sender.

  • View, edit, and manage conversations they are permitted to access.

  • View reports, the member list, billing details, and workspace settings.

  • Edit ICP, offer, targeting, workspace settings, and CRM connections.

  • Invite Sales Admin teammates and create workspaces within the account’s existing limits.

Sales Admin: not allowed by default

  • Remove members, cancel invitations, or permanently delete workspaces, leads, campaigns, lists, or tags; these actions are owner-only.

  • Change billing or member permissions; these actions are owner-only and cannot be granted with an override.

  • Use another member’s LinkedIn sender.

  • Change anyone’s role or access permissions; this always stays with the workspace owner.

Other workspace roles

  • Owner: has full workspace access, including member permissions, settings, and billing. Member access controls cannot remove owner access.

  • Editor: can view and manage leads and opportunities, view campaigns, permitted conversations, reports, members, and settings, and send outreach through an authorized sender. Creating campaigns, generating outreach, and connecting their own LinkedIn are not included by default.

  • Approver: can view opportunities by default. The name does not grant permission to approve, manage, or send outreach.

Change a person’s access

  1. 1

As the workspace owner, confirm that you are in the correct workspace and open Settings, then Members.

  2. 2

Choose the member and set their role. On Scale, open their access controls to adjust individual permissions.

  3. 3

Keep Role default to follow the role, choose Allow to grant access, or choose Deny to block it.

  4. 4

Select Save access after changing individual permissions. Ask the member to refresh the page.

Plan changes and limits

Sales Admin access requires Scale. If Scale access ends, Sales Admin members receive Editor permissions, extra Allow grants stop applying, and explicit Deny choices remain in effect.

Dismiss opportunities you no longer need or archive old leads. The owner can open Billing when the workspace needs a higher plan limit.
